Travel Ghana with Moon&Star guesthouse
Ghana vacation – Discover Ghana with Moon&Star guesthouse
Travelling around Ghana, can you do that on your own?
Yes, you can! If you read well, have some travel experience, use common sense and in addition to all the information sources like Google and social media, you can also buy a good travel guide book. A travel guide, like the Bradt guide Ghana, provides practical information, but also a lot of details. From experience I know that during a trip through Ghana you can not only rely on Google maps.
Patricia welcomed us warmly in her guesthouse.
The rooms are tastefully decorated, with a cozy mosquito net. We had a private bathroom.
No diet or diet is too much to ask for Patricia. The meals were delicious.
The Ashanti tour took us to beautiful places and it was nice that everything was included in the price.
Organised Ghana tours

We had the pleasure of organizing the Ghana tour that Nick & Iris made. This beautiful video was their way of saying they enjoyed Ghana a lot!
“I recently spent two nights and three days at Moon and Star Guesthouse. They arranged our transportation and organized guided tours for us. They are ecologically minded and working to provide a sustainable model.
The rooms were clean and comfortable with good screens, fans, and mosquito nets. The bathrooms were clean and functional. Only cold water in the shower, but they will provide hot water for washing on request.
There is a common room as well as a wonderful, outdoor covered area for dining and lounging. The extensive garden features native plants and provides a setting that belies the guesthouse’s location on the main road. For those that need to stay connected, there is good wifi.
The food is amazing. Pat and her team can handle just about any food restrictions and she specializes in delicious, vegetarian and vegan dishes using local ingredients. We chose to have a bbq one evening, but they also offer a cooking workshop to learn local cooking techniques and dishes.
Touring – Emmanuel and Ike provided tours to Manhiya Palace, Kejetia Market, and the Cultural Center in Kumasi. We went hiking in Bomfobiri Forest Preserve which is just 20 minutes from the guesthouse and toured a Kente weaving center in Adanwomase.
Banko Women’s Organization – one of the highlights of our visit was touring the local village and seeing the work that Pat and Moon and Star Guesthouse do to support the local community. Proceeds from the Guesthouse help fund trade schools for sewing and cosomotology; cooking seminars to train professional cooks; and fund community improvement projects.
I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Moon and Star. I expect to return.“
“Amazing place. Locally and friendly. Pat manages everything very well and makes sure the food is amazing and in line with your diet. The guys that work there are very friendly and helpful. They even went hiking with me in the extreme heat. Rooms are nice and there is a very peaceful common area.”
